ADVANCING HEALTHCARE THROUGH EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW OF BENEFITS, CHALLENGES, METHODOLOGIES, AND RESEARCH DIRECTIONS

 ABSTRACT

Healthcare is rapidly evolving with advanced technology improving operations, early diagnosis, and medical procedures. Integrating these innovations enhances accuracy, efficiency, and speed, ultimately transforming patient care and medical practices. These advancements contribute to a safer, more effective, and accessible healthcare system for both patients and professionals. A comprehensive review of 1,008 research articles on technology in healthcare led to the selection of 106 studies for in-depth analysis. The study followed PRISMA guidelines and established a classification framework focusing on key areas: benefits, challenges, methodologies and research direction. The findings offer valuable insights into area of the Artificial Intelligence in reshaping healthcare in addressing modern complexities and improving overall efficiency of the healthcare systems. The study highlights the role of these innovations such as Precision Medicine and Personalized Treatment, Predictive Analytics and Early Diagnosis, Medical Imaging and Radiology, Robotics in Surgery and Rehabilitation and Virtual Health Assistants and Chatbots in ensuring sustainable progress in healthcare systems. It also provides recommendations for future research and offers guidance for policymakers on effectively integrating advanced technology into medical practices.
