AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT(AI) CHATBOT ENQUIRY SYSTEM FOR HIGHER INSTITUTES
ABSTRACT
The enquiry system is a vital tool that supports and promotes the best interest of any organization such as government parastatals, private establishments, banking sectors, health sector, agricultural sectors and even the educational sector. In educational sector, Higher Institutions (HIs)to be precise, enquiries are expected always from students (prospective, current and alumnus), parents and even staff of the Institution, thereby making that arm of the Institution a very busy one. The need for a supporting system which will relieve the human stress in this area and produce a better result, cannot be over emphasized. The kernel of this research work is to build an Artificial Intelligent chatbot enquiry system for Higher Institution, which enables end users interact with the chatbot from their electronic devices using a web client instead of human client. The new system aims to improve the response time and reduce human stress in the enquiry unit of the HIs. Natural Language Processing model was applied to enable the chatbot understand the natural human linguistic behaviour, while DexieDB was used as its database for storing and querying of responses. The chatbot is a web-based system which enables conversation(s) at any time of day in the world.
