CYBER-SECURITY CONSCIOUSNESS AND EDUCATION STRATEGY IN NIGERIA

ABSTRACT

Cybersecurity consciousness and education are critical to a cyber-user’s safety when utilizing the internet. The aim of this paper is to determine the level of user cybersecurity consciousness and education in Nigerians and develop a sustainable strategy to close the knowledge gap and, as a result, advance better cyber-hygiene and security. This study is focused on deciding the level of the client's network safety cognizance and training and making a close examination in Nigeria, likewise fostering a maintainable technique to close the loophole and thus, advance better digital cleanliness and online protection. This study uses Partial Least Squares (PLS) as a statistical technique that allows comparison between multiple responses variables by incorporating qualitative measures with data collected by means of a survey questionnaire. The results show that Nigerians have a high percentage of consciousness about cyber-security and cyber-crimes. The Impact of Government Cybersecurity consciousness and Education has been more effective in Nigeria.
