ABSTRACT:
Mobile-Phone is one of the valuable devices for communication that may enhance Immunisation record system and public health reporting in the developing countries. Prior research has suggested that routine Immunisation is characterised by low coverage couple with an unreliable data and surveillance system in most of the developing countries. To address this challenge, an attempt is made in proposing a model for mobile phone-based Immunisation registry. The purpose of which is to reduce some challenges associated with routine Immunisation in Nigeria. An application was designed and developed to stored and track children Immunisation records. The Software was implemented using Android SDK, Android Studio, PHP and MYSQL as a development tool. Given that some vaccinators are often non-tech-savvy, the prototype has been developed to allow easy record entry procedure and smoothes flow, by providing several modules which include: registration module, vaccine information module, and Immunisation module. The proposed model will no doubt contribute towards the improvements in the quality of healthcare delivery by reducing incidences of errors in medical records. It will also help the health workers to access records with ease.
