ABSTRACT:
Owing to the need to continually provide Electrical Electronics (EE) and Computer Science (CS) students with practical, cognitive and transferable skills required in the industries, this work was done to enhance the existing course content of Microprocessor Application course (EEE438). The adopted course enhancement process which covered the 2015 to 2018 academic sessions of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana (AIFPU) involved the re-modelling of the course curriculum; the integration of hands-on practical tools; and the continual use of course evaluation form. The enhanced course was evaluated using the academic performance of the students. With over 80% success rate recorded over these academic sessions (2015 to 2018), it was shown the objective of transferring embedded system design skills to the students has continuously improved.
