ABSTRACT:
The word ‘SMART’ means Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology. It is not a gain-say that in today’s world, the society has become hooked with technology and people have acquired for themselves smart devices that suits their needs in order to improve their lifestyles. In the industries, information and communication technologies such as cloud services, big data, artificial intelligence, internet of things, among others, have been used to enhance the management of businesses and territories. Nowadays, due to integration and automation of devices with the global network, the following are cited - smart phones, smart clothing, smart health, smart city, smart vehicle and so on. As much as the human race depends on these devices to develop status, an area of concern that should be looked into is the security aspect. Suffice to say that the internet is not prone to attacks and so, security in this smart era is noteworthy for concern. This paper therefore delved into the readiness for improving technology and enabling security in the smart era.
