SMARTPHONE APPLICATION SECURITY: A REVIEW ON ANDROID OS VERSUS iOS

ABSTRACT:

The widespread usage of smartphones has risen significantly, creating new avenues for the production and distribution of both personal and business data. Android and iOS are the two most widely used platforms among the numerous smartphone operating systems. Globally, there are 1.4 billion Android users and 1.0 billion iOS users. Android users outweigh iOS users by a wide margin. The implementation of effective security measures is difficult on both the iOS and Android versions of these operating systems. All security-related concerns relating to these two smartphone operating systems will be covered in this article. In this research, the security characteristics of Android and iOS are compared in terms of data transfer, software and hardware vulnerabilities, malware, and performance evaluation.
