AGILE CURRICULA AND INDUSTRY SYNERGIES: PREPARING GRADUATES FOR THE AI-DRIVEN FUTURE OF WORK

ABSTRACT

The accelerated development of Generative AI and automation has posed a major mismatch between the conventional three-to-four-year degree cycles and the current labour market demands as the standard three-to-four-year-old degrees seem to be too slow to adapt to the exponential changes in technology. This study fills this gap by projecting a two-framework that focuses on Agile Curriculum Design and Deep Industry Integration. The study uses a well-developed methodology encompassing a systematic review of literature and a case study to examine the ways in which higher education can be transformed in order to become more dynamic and responsive to the changing environment through transitioning out of the traditional static models. The major conclusions are the need to develop Elastic Skills, a vital combination of technical expertise and cognitive flexibility, and to design an unbroken Feedback Loop framework between the technology industry and educational organizations. This synergy enables real time recalibration of learning outcomes to suit the pace of industrial change. Finally, by aligning education outputs with the requirements of the AI-driven labour market, this structure will mean that not only do graduates receive the latest tools but that they will be ready to learn continuously as the future of work demands.
