ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ENABLED INTERACTIVE EDUCATIONAL PEDAGOGY DEVELOPMENT FOR EDUCATION 5.0

ABSTRACT

The current paper aims to highlight the perceptions in Information Communication Technology (ICT)c education, concentrating attention on the higher education system in Nigeria. Adopting impressive   pedagogical gamification in the learning simulations, the paper argued that these methodologies of immersive and adaptive educational knowledge engineering are the ultimate future teaching and learning best practices. The      paper   reviewed the     developments in ICT policy instrument in the National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) services, to establish the contributions of Nigeria Education Research Network (NgREN) on boosting the quality of education and research output for sustainable development. The paper identified substantial gap in the National Universities Commission (NUC) ICT research network for the Nigerian Universities.   Not minding the widespread recognition of the benefits of ICT in teaching and learning, as well as growing investment in ICT, this paper argued that it is not being used adequately in higher education in the developing countries in general, and Nigeria in particular. In the paper, the authors introduced the role of personalized educational App for teaching and learning and provided justification for the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled system for teaching and learning. The paper posit that the effective curriculum implementation in the current digital society      will require a merger of disruptive technologies and smart ecosystem configuration that will promote economies of scale in accomplishing the twenty first century educational sustainability, being the ultimate goal for education 5.0.
