COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE AVAILABILITY AND USE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE ON EDUCATION IN SOUTH-WESTERN NIGERIA
ABSTRACT
Information Technology (IT) has greatly transformed the education landscape in Nigeria. Despite the different challenges and bottlenecks being experienced by stakeholders in deploying these tools and infrastructure, some institutions have recorded success in its implementation. This research is focused on comparing how Information Technology has impacted on the three (3) sectors of education (Primary, Secondary and Tertiary) in Nigeria. Data was collected from Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions in Lagos and Ibadan (South Western Nigeria).Data was collected from Twenty (20) Primary institutions including private and public schools, Twenty (20) Secondary institutions both Private and Public as well as Tertiary Institutions which include Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education. Data was collected using Questionnaires and Exploratory Data Analysis was carried out using Python Programming Language in Google Colab where libraries such as matplotlib, seaborn and pandas were used.
