ABSTRACT:
Food products and pharmaceutical goods suffer from variable rate decays which are not usually reflected in storage information labels of most products. In this paper, a web based agent analytic solution (i.e., XtremeDetect) for remote sensing, monitoring and control of critical parameters (temperature t, humidity h, and light intensity l) in enclosed silos is presented. The system takes care of short and long term monitoring and storage of food and pharmaceutical goods for effective management. PHP container package with the Apache web server and basic hypertext markup language are used for web-based context visualization. Server scripting with PHP is used for sending and receiving request from the system. Microsoft visual studio is leveraged as the integrated development environment (IDE) for web application program interface (API). XtremeDetect initial sensor values of 37oC (temperature), 33% (humidity), and 337 lux (light) respectively satisfies the default ambient storage conditions. The results obtained enables remote monitoring, control and management of a contextual storage system for improved efficiency and cost effectiveness.
