ABSTRACT:
Online shopping or marketing is becoming one of the ways of transacting business nowadays. Locating and reserving hotels by visitors or tourists is a problem especially in developing countries. Mobile agents can be deployed to help visitors locate desirable hotels in a town. In this paper a framework of multi-agents systems for hotel reservation is proposed. The proposed agent system is designed using Java Agent Development Environment (JADE). The system will be used to find available hotels online at affordable prices and location of interest given by the user. The agents search for desirable hotels on behalf of the user. The system architecture can also address the problem of expensive network connection with limited bandwidth since after the agent is launched through a network, the user can disconnect from mobile devices and later logon to reconnect to devices for the results. The proposed system is demonstrated by creating a customer agent and hotels agents using JADE (Java Agent Development Environment) in NetBeans Development Environment. The prototype system implementation shows that the system is efficient at locating hotels based on lowest cost.
